Strategically located in Melbourne’s emerging commercial hub, directly opposite Southern Cross Station and bordered by Collins and Flinders Streets, Melbourne Quarter is a landmark development featuring three next-generation commercial towers. Designed to set new benchmarks in sustainability and urban innovation, the precinct reflects a bold vision for the future of city living.

Form Brick is proud to have played a role in shaping the architectural identity of Two Melbourne Quarter, the second tower in the precinct. Our contribution centered on a distinctive brick inlay solution that not only enhanced the building’s aesthetic appeal but also aligned with its sustainability goals.

Form Brick’s Brick Inlay Solution

At Form Brick, we specialize in turning architectural concepts into reality. For this project, we worked closely with Brick layer, Byrne constructions, constructing brick inlay panels as a suspended and brick clad foundation for their brick work.

Our process involves:

Precision cutting: Each brick facing is cut to 20mm including corner pieces
Form liner integration: We use custom form liners to embed the bricks into concrete panels.
In this case, making small precast panels, Form brick cast the panels in house in collaboration with Byrne construction systems.

The result is a brick wall, supported by reinforced concrete, unusually, clad with brick from the same batch.

Two Melbourne Quarter has earned a 6 Star Green Star Design Review certification from the Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA), recognizing its outstanding commitment to sustainability, innovation, and community engagement. This prestigious rating reflects the exceptional quality of the building and the broader precinct, developed by Lendlease. With a focus on achieving a minimal carbon footprint, the project exemplifies environmentally conscious design.
